A lot of people are fearful about a trip to the dentist, but you don’t have to be. With dental sedation it makes it easier for almost everybody. And some of the reasons you might want sedation dentistry are fear of the dentist and bad experiences in the past.
If you have trouble with numbing or don’t like being numbed it makes it much easier. If your teeth are sensitive or if you have a busy schedule with sedation we can often do what would take many appointments we can do in one appointment. If you have a lot of undone dental work sometimes even years of work can be done in just a few visits. So, these are all great reasons to have dental sedation. It can let you literally take a pill and snooze through your dental visits with little or no memory and you’ll wake up being relaxed. So, it’s very helpful to a lot of people.
Now, there are a lot of questions people have about it such as, “Will I really be relaxed?” Well, the medications relax you, people snooze and wake up refreshed. So, yes, you will be relaxed.
“Will I remember anything?” You’ll have little or no memory from this and to be on the safe side you’ll need someone to drive you here and take you back. So, we don’t want you driving with the medication in your system. It will make you very relaxed.
“Will I feel any pain?” Little or no discomfort will be felt with the medications.
“Is it safe for me?” You know, sedation dentistry has been used for over 30 years. The pills are very safe. We monitor your vitals throughout the whole procedure and we’ll do a comprehensive medical history before we ever do any sedation on you. So, it’s very, very safe.
Another question, “Will insurance cover it?” Well, we’ll look at your insurance and see and if not we’ll try to make some arrangements where we can help you get the care you need.
So, if you think that sedation dentistry may be for you then give us a call and we’ll be glad to tell you more about it or come by and we’ll talk more about it or you can call to schedule an appointment.
